Where was this book when I needed it?

I went to Barnes and Noble with James last weekend to get a couple Little Miss books for Jimmy's daycare book exchange. So, after we went and got Little Miss Giggles and Little Miss Fun, I wandered throught the Special Needs Section and found this book:

OMG, where was THIS book BEFORE Jimmy was diagnosed? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed The Out Of Sync Child, but this book is a perfect first book for SPD. It features such great questions as:

• Can you see sensory processing difficulties in an infant?
• Why does my child refuse to play on playground equipment?
• How can I get my sensory-sensitive child ready for a trip to Disneyland
• My child "freaks" at the thought of going to the dentist.

I so needed this book about three years ago. I still need this book today. This should be the first book that parents who suspect their kid has SPD should read. The second would be The Out of Sync Child. This book does address SPD as an only diagnosis and with other disorders, such as ADD/ADHD and Autism.

I haven't finished reading it, but I've almost cried at a couple parts, as this knowledge could have helped me so much sooner. This is one that will stay on my bookshelf. And if I ever meet Ms. Delaney, I may have to hug her and make her some cookies.
