Letters of the Week - 8/10/08

Dear Marshall Field's
Yes, I'm calling you by your maiden name, I REFUSE to use you new name. It stands for bad things for all who loved you. You promised jobs wouldn't be eliminated, you keep cutting jobs. You got rid of your Sunday ads with the wonderful coupons I used to fuel my designer clothes on clearance addition. Then, I go to visit you yesterday and what do I see? The Bistro is CLOSED! Gone FOREVER! You promised to keep it open. And if I saw one more "Limited Edition" flavor of Frangos, I was going to SCREAM! Then I went upstairs to see you've cut a large amount of the Ralph Lauren Women's Section. My favorite! You know how to break someone's heart. After all the hours we've spent together through the years. Christmas shopping, shoe buying, special gifts for weddings and babies. I even forgave your brother for hosting a BlogHer Cocktail Party in his store, which made no sense. And this is how you thank me???? This is unacceptable. I'm sorry, this is the FINAL straw. I will not be darkening your doorstep anymore. I will walk by without a second glance when I see you. You will never see my hard earned cash anymore. We are OVER!
Forever,
Jennifer

Dear New Catholic School and Church,
I am happy we are here, but why did you have to change the uniform without prior warning? I had happily bought parts of her summer uniform at Kohl's, only to see Friday that now the summer unform skort has to be bought at the uniform company. Why oh Why did you do this to us? The skort at the uniform company is 3x one at Kohl's. I am going to spend $122 when I could have spend $40 at Kohl's. This stinks. I hope your portion from the uniform company is good.
Completely Puzzled,

Hey Jennifer
That whole uniform thing got me too. At the second last parents evening it was agreed the uniform wouldn't change colour just the shirt & tie would be replaced by a polo shirt and the jumper would be getting the school emblem on it (which I personally think is unnecessary for junior schools in the countryside). The crest on the jumper means you can only buy it from one retail outlet at 3 times the cost of a regular jumper. But I was only one voice.

Then to my horror after buying 9 blue polo shirts in the sales for the 3 kids earlier in the year they changed to red polo shirts (I missed the last meeting so never heard this). I couldn't return them so I had to give them away to a child from a neighbouring school. Aagh!
